What is Ptosis Correction?
Blepharoptosis is a condition in which the upper eyelid droops due to a weakness in the levator muscle, which lifts the upper eyelid.
In this case, the eyelids cover the pupil, obstructing vision and giving the appearance of tiredness and sleepiness.
If the blepharo ptosis is severe, forehead wrinkles are likely to form because the forehead muscles are used to open the eyes,
and the eyelids cover the pupil, which impairs vision, so ptosis correction is recommended.Non-incisional/incisional surgery may be recommended depending on the degree of power to open the eyes.

What If I Only Get Double Eyelid Surgery Without Ptosis Correction?
When only double eyelid surgery was performed
Performing double eyelid surgery without correcting the ptosis tends to lead to unsatisfactory results because the exposure of the eyes is not altered. Additionally, there is a chance that the double eyelids will unravel easily due to the disconnection between the skin and the eye elevating muscle and they may end up as static folds.
When combining double eyelid surgery and ptosis correction
When double eyelid and ptosis correction are performed together, the exposure of the pupils is increased by lifting the levator muscles, resulting in lively and clear eyes, as well as a static natural double eyelid crease(dynamic fold) that does not unravel.

FAQ
Double eyelid surgery involves creating an artificial crease above the eyes via incision or non-incision, whereas ptosis correction involves improving the ability to open the eyes regardless of the crease.
Rarely, the eyes are not closed because of side effects, but if you have a lot of swelling in the beginning, you might occasionally feel that your eyes are not closed, but this problem goes away with time.
This is not possible for two reasons. The first reason being that if the Ptosis procedure is solely undergone. A small incision is made on the eyelids during the procedure. This causes irregular adhesions on the eyelids, resulting in unwanted wrinkles on our eyes. Thus the right approach would be to control the adhesions while creating and designing our double eyelids so they match you correctly and beautifully in the most natural way. The second reason is most people with Ptosis have sagging skin that covers the pupils, and by combing the double eyelid surgery we can retract and add tension to the right amount of skin to maximize eye exposure.
Although it can be roughly determined by how much of the pupil is exposed, seeking professional advice is the most accurate way to determine if you have ptosis or not.
It is not necessary to do it all at once, and it is best to choose a surgical method that is appropriate for the patient after diagnosis and consultation with a specialist.
