What is Fat Grafting?

If facial fat is lost or absorbed as a result of diet or aging, the facial shape may become irregular and appear older. Facial contouring surgery and thread lifting can help with this, while fat grafting is a popular method for increasing the overall volume of the face.

Fat grafting is a surgical procedure in which excess fat is harvested from high-fat areas, such as the thighs or abdomen, and selectively injected into areas that lack volume.Typical areas include the forehead, under the eyes, cheekbones, temple, chin, temple and nasolabial folds. In order to create a youthful and lovely face shape, each person's troubled areas are improved, such as removing sagging curves, filling the areas which lack volume, and lifting the center of the facial area that droops downwards.

Will the effect lessen if I go on a diet after fat grafting?

It usually takes about two to three months for the fat to engraft. After fat grafting, it typically takes two to three months for the fat to engraft. Therefore, it is advised to avoid an excessive diet while fat is being engrafted. Losing or maintaining 2-3 kg of weight is not a big deal, but if you are considering on losing weight, it is recommended that you do it before fat grafting.

Can I get fat grafting if I've had fillers or Botox?

- That is determined by the location of the fat grafting procedure.In the case of Botox, fat grafting is possible even if you have had Botox because it has no effect on fat grafting.However, in the case of filler, it is possible, but it is recommended that you consult with a specialist before thesurgery, due to the risk ofinflammation.

Will fat grafting make my face look big or saggy?

- If you try to improve skin sagging with fat grafting alone, the amount needed will be excessive, which it will eventually deviate from the desired location, deepening the wrinkles.
- When fat is transplanted to the appropriate area in an appropriate amount within a safe range, it creates a three-dimensional effect on the face and makes the face appear smaller.

Can I get fat grafting if I have thin skin?

Yes, fat grafting is possible regardless of skin thickness.

Will applying cold or warm packs after fat grafting help reduce swelling?

It is not recommended to apply cold or warm packs after surgery because the pressure and the temperature can interfere with the formation of fat cells and may cause deformation. If the surgical site is extremely hot or uncomfortable, it is recommended to use an ice pack for a short period of time to reduce the heat sensation.
